The Ondo Kingdom Youth Coalition (OKYC) for Tinubu 2027, led by its Coordinator, Comr. Kayode Olamigoke, met with the former Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
The meeting, held at his residence in Ondo City on Tuesday, 29th September 2026, marks a significant step towards youth inclusion in politics.
The group sought the fatherly advice and political guidance of the Ondo-born political icon as the youth coalition officially kicked off its grassroots consultation, political engagement and mobilisation drive ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The OKYC is a support group comprising over 40 politically conscious youth groups and associations across Ondo East and Ondo West Local Government Areas.
The coalition aims to create a unified, politically conscious youth body within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to mobilise grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates at all levels in the 2027 elections.

The visit to the former governor is a strategic push to align with the revered senior statesman and seek his guidance and support for the coalition’s grassroots campaign and mobilisation framework for driving peace, community development, and deep political participation and inclusion of youths and women in Ondo Kingdom.
Dr. Mimiko praised the youth support group for taking the bull by the horns and pledged his support, provided we keep the fire burning and play politics of equity and discipline.
He also commended Ondo youths for maintaining peace in the Kingdom, especially during the Ogun festival.
In his remarks, he highlighted several examples of good governance and its impact on the socio-economic lives of the people.
He encouraged Ondo Kingdom youths to prioritise sustainable development over short-lived empowerment.
The Coordinator of the support group, Comr. Kayode Olamigoke expressed appreciation to Dr. Mimiko for his counsel and perspectives on youth participation, political development and the future of Ondo Kingdom, Ondo State, and Nigeria at large.
